Because it seems like people are content to drag these guys further and further under the bus to deflect blame from a WR group that frankly hasnt been good. I know you agree with the last point because you were way more bearish on them after the Miami game. It’s weird that those criticizing the WR room are these supposed pessimists but I guess it’s ok for mega threads about how Nagy and embree suck, and how reid and mahomes don’t just need to be better… they’ve been “need to get your shit together” bad. It doesn’t make that crowd more optimstic because they are spreading the blame to 10 difference places instead of 1.

Rice is getting more snaps but it hasn’t been the fix all because he still has some ways to go as a rookie. Skyy is getting less snaps, but that means putting Mvs and Watson on the field at the same time even though both will always be low target % guys. Rice/skyy snap counts haven’t yet fixed these underlying problems. There is still an issue with sporadic target shares until rice emerges as a true target monster and defenses have stepped up to where we need even more than that.

People want to share the blame because it gets us to “our WRs aren’t great but they’re fine.” And that just isn’t the case. There are a lot of people to blame but it is a chain. The WRs have played like bottom 5, it’s forced Reid to scheme around them, which in turn has led mahomes to deal with a science lab of constant rotation and WRs running around like chickens with their heads cut off.
Or maybe the entire WR room that is literally the exact same from last season sans JJSS taking massive steps backwards at the same time throughout long stretches might be indicative that it's NOT just the talent level and there are legitimate problems in the game planning and play calling.
