We've seen over the years, even during the Tyreek years that when this offense is a tick off, it can look pretty bad.
When you look at the all-22 view, you can frequently see that there are guys open, but someone missed a block, or that Mahomes just missed a guy, or should have taken the outlet, or this, or that.
I'm not saying the WR play is without criticism, I'm just saying it's not a huge gaping talent hole like some of you insist.
There are several plays there every game that we're not hitting, and that's the difference between a top 5 offense and a #15 offense.
We're not that far away, and I have faith in Andy and Patrick to get it together.
I DO think it's time to narrow the rotation, I can't imagine that having that many bodies going in and out all of the time is helpful when it's a 'feel' problem.
Nothing has 'failed' yet. We're halfway through the season, 7-2, and in the driver's seat for HFA.
This is still not the finished product on offense.
If anything has 'failed', it's that Moore does not look to have any juice, and they've been lowering his snap counts already.
I don't understand the Toney usage. I really don't.
Rice is getting the snaps, but not the targets and he's often open. That's not a 'Rice talent' issue.
It's all just a little out of synch. Gods help the team on the other side when it snaps into focus.

I mean, look, I’m not gonna go off on a rant. I’ve said my piece. I appreciate the optimism but it is what it is. This team is good enough to win without good WR play but it seems clear we’re gonna have to macgyver this wr room for the rest of the season so that they’re good enough for the rest of the team to carry them. That’s fine and good chance it works. We can end the narrative by now that WRs are flying open everywhere. They don’t get open consistently and so mahomes can’t anticipate from snap to snap who to lock onto, and he can’t anticipate when the guy can get separation.
So we adapt. We run the ball more, a lot more 12 personnel (gray has a low ceiling as a wr but he’s effective enough). You put the big boy pants on rashee. He’s getting the snaps but we need to expand how we use him. Stop ****ing around with rotations and just give mahomes a consistent rotation. You gotta make do with a less than ideal rotation that has either skyy taking on lots of reps or Mvs/Watson on the field at the same time, which is less ideal. And you tell Toney or James to shit or get off the pot next year. We open up the creative playbook late in the season to scheme guys open. And we manage games so the defense can win them for us. It’s not my favorite approach but it will work. Then let’s get after this in the offseason and make offense priority #1.
