Denver is all over those plays. I mean those are largely zone coverages that Denver just has dialed in.

Then it was compounded by Mahomes looking deep to short and then clutching instead of firing. There are actually fewer missed shots on those plays than I'd have expected - there just weren't many open windows to throw into unless you threw on pure anticipation. Even then, these weren't guys in space.

The Denver defense looked locked in. They just seem to be a step ahead of our offense there.

And again, to the 'Dumb it down' crowd - what do you think those plays were? There wasn't anything complicated in there. Those were pretty basic route combos and Denver just seemed to be reading our minds.

So unless/until Mahomes starts to take those underneath routes to keep them out of those 3rd and long situations, or unless/until he's willing to throw with more anticipation just as he hits the back of his drop to convert 3rd and long, we're gonna have issues.

Agreed. I only saw really one pass for a potential big gain where he had MVS for a TD but he got sacked (starting at :35)
