As great as Mahomes is everyone just expected that he'd elevate the play of a bunch of JAG WR's and the offense would roll on. Instead it's the opposite of what's happened. Instead his play has fallen down closer to the level of his WR's. Because he doesn't just give them opportunities and accept they'll fail now and again he's forcing stuff in to Kelce and Watson and throwing INT's anyway.

If he can pat his chest and say "My bad, my bad" after an INT he might as well ****ing throw them the ball and build trust with them. Will that lead to a few interceptions? Sure, of course, but he's throwing them anyway because he gets impatient and forces the football down the field.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).
