My in-laws are still in Salem so I go back a couple of times a year. There is still a lot I like but it's a lot busier now and a lot of the stores and businesses I used to frequent are closed now.

Good god beer was bad back then. I remember guys driving down to California just to pick up a few cases of Coors because so many people thought it was better and it wasn't available in Oregon. It was only like an hour and a half drive but still. Beer is
MUCH better in this country now.
