We've used a pair of 2s on WR already. One shows decent promise but one looks to be a bust. I'd just as soon lock in a known quantity at WR for the next several years. Again, just depends on what the contact ask is.

The problem with this logic is the likelihood that we trade for him and lock him up for something that's "reasonable" is non-existent. Why would he give up the optionality of being able to negotiate with all teams?
So then we've traded for a guy who will be a FA after the season and might command more than we're willing to pay him and then we've used a 2 on a guy who hasn't cracked 1,000 yds more than once in his career and is out of our control.
He is a good WR. He has not proven to be an elite WR yet in his career. You're not getting him for the next several years at a price that's going to feel good for the Chiefs. This is all fantasyland.
