It's REALLY about the lack of explosive plays and ability to do something with the ball once the catch is made.
That's what this is REALLY about. These guys aren't creating. They're running routes just fine. They're catching just fine. Young guys ARE playing.
But aside from Rice, these guys aren't creating on their own. No one is scary with the ball in their hands. Toney CAN be, but it hasn't clicked yet.

I actually worry more about what we do before the catch. Our WRs can run the plays as designed. But they don’t do a lot of the little things like flatten routes or cut them off, follow mahomes on scramble drill, sit down in the zone. I just don’t think it’s a coincidence that Ross and rice, our two most inexperienced WRs are frequently on the same page as mahomes where our veterans still are not. We run a precise offense too unprecisely.
It’s why it still feels like these guys get open but it kind of catches mahomes off guard because he didn’t expect them to hit their spots. He just doesn’t trust a lot of these guys.
