So it's boxing Toney into that role and out of more dynamic ones. I think Hardman can help obviate those issues. At that point we can still limit the wear on Toney by keeping his snaps down while using him downfield more. We can not 'waste pitches' on him for gadget plays that Hardman can run (and likely run more effectively) and Reid can keep those gadget plays in his playbook since I still think he uses those in large part to set up other stuff to work off them.
If they want to limit wear and tear on Toney and they can only have him in one role, I don't know why they're choosing the gadget role instead of having him just be normal WR. If anything, he takes more wear and tear doing the gadget stuff. And it hasn't been successful in the least so far.
