This is about as typical as any stage of evolution goes.
The early days were special because the community was new and great and the Chiefs were miserable and everyone jointly suffered together. Now we've hit some divergence in the road where some people can be happy because of the immense success and others can't comprehend that and have to invent random avenues to achieve new levels of unhappiness.
Most of these strong disagreements revolve around this exact premise.

Exactly.
I find it funny that two of the more miserable posters here thinks this place has changed.... well sure, you were once in the majority thinking the Chiefs were terrible, and now you're in the small minority being miserable.
And we weren't even all in agreement back then... some fans loved being champions of September, always "demanded respect" from the media when the Chiefs were 3-0 or would knock off a good team early in the season. But, for the most part, you could wallow in misery and no one would really call you out on it.
In terms of how much we hate each other though, look back in the early Hall of Classic threads... the mod abuse, the "this place has changed" threads, the drama. It's always been there, but there's probably never been more of a divide between the miserable ****s and homers.
