It's silly to base your opinion solely on stats anyway. Couple examples: Mahomes throws a perfect pass to Toney, who bobbles it directly into a DB's hands for a pick 6. On Sunday night, Mahomes could have walked into the endzone on the last play, but chose to run clock instead.

That's where ESPN's QBR metric is helpful. They don't blame Mahomes for the Pick 6 with Toney, and they gave Mahomes a good grade in that Lions game overall.

ESPN QBR also gives proper credit to clutch moments in the 4th quarter and effectiveness running the ball, which helps both Allen & Mahomes compared to your more statue-type of quarterbacks such as Tom Brady or the Manning brothers. They also down-grade garbage time stuff, so whatever stat padding happened for Justin Fields in that 41-0 game with the Chiefs. Or Russell Wilson padding his stats in that Dolphins 70 point game. Or Tua padding his stats while down 28 to Buffalo...etc etc.
