There is a line between patience and acceptance. Yeah these guys are young and capable of growing. But we also have a lot of information by now.
- skyy looks limited. Can still play a role but Probably need to dial back snaps
- Toney is electric but by now we know he can’t be relied on for heavy usage
- Mvs is always going to be a 2-3 target a game guy with a few exceptions. Which is fine but is that a guy you want in on majority of snaps
- Watson is good depth but games like this show his limits. He’s a guy the offense opens up but less use when the defense can neutralize without selling out
- rashee is our best hope to backfill juju. And that’s sorely missing. In half of the games juju got 8+ targets. Who does that for us now?
- speaking of kelce, he can only do so much. There are defenses that can neutralize him with less help. Defenses like NE, LAC, Tennessee have done it. Now without a juju option it makes it even easier to sell out to stop kelce. He opens up so much of the offense and good WRs should be able to exploit it
By now we have good info on who Mvs, Watson, Toney are. We’re probably getting close to accepting who skyy is too. Our patience and optimism is that rice progresses so we’re back to square 1 vs last year. I don’t think that solves some real issues but it gives us a real good shot in a year where defense is king and we have a good one ourselves.
