I’m hardly a juju defender. But yeah having a guy reliably hit his spots would have been nice for a qb who looked totally flustered with the chaos and timing on the offense. Would much rather a wr1 but in absence of that, a bandaid you can get rid of easily would’ve been fine. Short term until you develop someone better.
We overestimated mahomes’ confidence to deal with complete chaos. It’s not like kelce magically fixes it either. Remember mahomes’ frustration and dejected looks a few years ago when drob/hardman kept ****ing things up and all the drops that year. You could have a reliable glue guy and treat the rest of the rotation like a science lab.
We will get through it because mahomes is resilient but we can’t continue to put so much on mahomes and kelce. As if mahomes doesn’t get flustered when WRs don’t do their jobs or as if we haven’t seen a younger kelce get burned out in games where he’s asked to do so damn much.
