PFF scores of 49.7 for Smith and 52.7 for Taylor. I'm going to say what I've said before, people need to pump the brakes on the "best OL we've had with Mahomes". Absolutely possible, but definitely not our best OTs. This ain't Fisher and Schwartz. Taylor is going to pass-block well enough and be poor blocking the run, as he's been his whole career. Smith, who knows. I thought he was a bit better than that totally arbitrary looking PFF score, but also, not THAT good. Which again is what his career has mostly been...OK.
I get people's dislike of OBJ but he was and is a better OT than Smith, against the pass and in the run. Taylor obviously upgrades at RT in pass pro.
They'll get better but we shouldn't expect truly "elite" play from guys that have shown it infrequently.
