The difference is that sack directly impacted the game. It was a close game, Cincy had the ball with a chance to drive into FG range with less than a minute left. They had already converted one third and 16 on that drive. That sack changed everything and forced the Bengals to punt and the rest is history.
Could KC have stopped them on that third down without the sack? Sure. Would Cincinnati have punted if it was fourth and short? Sure. That sack forced their hand and allowed for a good Moore return and a Mahomes scramble/15 yard RTP.
In no way is that sack and his missed one the year before the same as two years ago that missed sack never should have decided the game. It wouldn't have if not for KC's offensive meltdown.
