Donald himself saw signs of decline at 31 last year and $30 million APY would have to be a 5 or so year deal to spread out that money.

I think the only way you'd keep him is if you deem keeping him on the tag better than letting him walk as a FA because a deal couldn't be made.
I don't think they'll tag him and expect him to play on the tag, though. If they tag him, it would be because they know they can move him to a team with cap space, looking to go over the top in 2024.
