And thankfully that's largely been the case with the voters, I find.
But hey... there are definitely a few borderline cases whose resumes have been furthered or carried along by the teams they played for. It IS a boost to the resume for certain players.
A few trolls were uttering Julian Edelman as a future HOFer in the media and everybody smacked that notion down hard, but unfortunately the damage has been done. I think something that wasn't even worth a thought has now entered into peoples' minds, and there are going to be some loonies out there serously pushing it. All in the name of "The story of the NFL..." which is the singlemost determining clause responsible for unmerited HOF inductees.
