Cliff notes are the Osage got oil on the reservation. Lots of money. And there was a law that the Native Americans could be deemed "incompetent" and then a trustee was assigned to handle their business and they got epically fleeced. And they straight up murdered fools so they could get oil rights transferred to someone that would have a white guy married into the Native American families and would sell the rights.
Yeah, in this case, white man bad.
Really, you should read the book. It is an easy read and is ****ing excellent. Really ****ing excellent. Horrifying, but excellent.
