(FYI, yes, there is a paywall)
I don’t know that it’s anything real surprising, but an interesting look into the dysfunction in the Broncos organization last year, much of which was due to Russ.
Good news though, Donko fans, you’re only stuck with him for three more years! So something to look forward to . . . . . . . eventually.

Summarizing the article:
Wilson asked Seahawks brass to fire both Carroll and the GM and bring in Sean Payton. That was when Seattle decided to trade him.
Wilson hired his own staff, his own QB coach (Heaps from KU), nutritionist, physical therapist, and wanted them to work in the building only for him. Heaps seemed to be running film reviews and people felt he had too much influence.
Players were annoyed at Russ's office in the team facility, thinking he should be down in the locker room with players and not upstairs with the coaches.
Wilson called meetings for the offense at the team facility on days they typically had off.
Wilson was supposedly the problem with the delay of game issues, plays weren't coming in late. He changed cadences in the huddle to things that hadn't been practiced, causing false starts.
Basically the same situation developed as had in Seattle, the organization decided "it's all about Russ", Hackett even said as much, pampering him to the detriment of everyone and everything else.
Eventually they got him to give up his office and keep his personal staff out of the building. Payton said that wouldn't be going on under his watch either.
Also, Payton was Denver's third choice, behind Harbaugh and Ryans.
