With his legs, he doesn’t need to be a great thrower to be elite. He just needs to be Alex Smith.
Josh Allen is a rare example of a QB with an elite arm and legs. Allen’s problem is that he throws himself into contact like a 1990’s neckguard fullback. With Hurts, his biggest obstacle is his coach who more than happily playcalls him into contact in meaningless regular season games.
