It was an invitation, bud. I freely admit i was pissed about the defense while i was watching the game. It wasn't until I read a post in a different thread that i even thought about checking the boxscore and the team stats. I'll have to go back and find that post so I can give that guy credit.
It was Denverchief. he posted a stat-line about how nearly 400 yds of offense was generated by 3 guys that weren't regular starters. And i just thought, what did the defense do statistically?
anyway, please check it out. I know stats don't tell the whole story, but still. The defense didn't have the horrific day it felt like superficially. They actually were pretty good, outside of a few weird bounces and missed assignments. Takeaway just a couple plays, and the defense held them to just 59 yards rushing and under 200 passing if not for that one long pass.
