Chiefs might not win the game today if Reid didn't just take the points in the first two drives today. It would have been tied in the 4th quarter. Seems like there are a lot of games now where the endgame would look different if a team had just taken 3 somewhere earlier in the day.

Yeah, and Staley has a knack for going for it early and then kicking when he should really go for it.... it's like he sees no value in early possessions, but late in games he turtles under the pressure of just wanting points.
He also seems to love going for the 4th and goals, which is of course more difficult than anywhere else on the field and you have coaches that overthink the short yardage stuff on top of it.
