9 million may seem like a lot vs let's say Kelce's salary but it really is reasonable for a veteran receiver of MVS quality in today's market. Most recently signed receivers in that price range are not performing as well as MVS.
If you want a more talented receiver like Tampa Bay got with Antonio Brown a few years ago at a lower cost, you either have to put up with a great deal of injury risk and/or the risk he will do something really stupid off/on the field.

It's a huge leap between MVS and AB, imo. i wasn't thinking that.
A step or two below AB? Or, a step or two above MVS in terms of catch rate? That would be nice, and not nearly as expensive.
