That's been true for the vast majority of KC losses since 2018. But you can also say that's the trend in the NFL (close wins, close losses) since they want every team to go 8-9 or 9-8. You have the salary cap, tougher schedules for the best teams, and much weaker draft picks for the best teams. They want the games to be very close and basically a 50/50 deal in terms of winning or losing.
