Exactly. Wishful thinkers kept repeating that Pete Carroll was holding him back. He just needs to get away from Pete and he'll be fixed!
Like I said plenty of times before the season, maybe Pete actually knew what he was doing. He's had a lot of success, both in college and the NFL. Let's not forget that when Pete, against his better judgment, "let Russ cook," it fell apart pretty quickly and he became a turnover machine. Then Carroll pulled the plug and righted the ship.
Teams don't just trade away legit franchise QBs in their prime. And the fact that they were considering replacements all the way back in 2017 or so says it all.
