People talk a lot about his baseball skills but this year he’s showing out his basketball skills. He’s become next level at dodging players in the pocket. This was one of his more traditional rollouts. But there were a few throws early in the game where he was zig zagging in the pocket like a point guard trying to dribble by a defender. Maybe I’m just too locked in to watching one player, but it seems like the way he eludes defenders is different from most QBs. Without a doubt there is no qb in history that has been more creative in that small pocket of space between where he moves and how he sets up throwing windows. It’s a very very different game than what we saw him start his career with. Most qbs with athleticism pinball defenders like josh Allen or they escape outside like Russell Wilson.
