When you have that kind of natural velocity, you don't have to 'reach back' to sling it. So you can get it out quicker and since you're not at max effort, with more accuracy.
Never understood the 'arm strength is irrelevant' crowd. It's not dispositive, but having premier arm strength makes a LOT of things easier. It's not just about throwing it farther than anyone else, it's about throwing it easier.
