It's also sort of putting the proven commodity where you know it will excel. Like we know we're scoring 35 a game if we get Pat two more receiving targets. We can win a lot of close games like that even without much of a pass rush, but if we add expensive DE's via FA and draft rookie WRs we aren't as sure either side will make the jump. Then if the pass rush gets much help at all from rookies/cheap FAs it's just icing on the cake.
