In fairness, I think the world has changed for quarterbacks. They're so protected that there's a reasonable chance that a good QB will play into his early 40s, so trading for a good 33 year-old quarterback is worth a big payment to potentially get 10 years without the risk of a bust. As much as I hate to say it, it's not a bad trade for Denver.
I do think Wilson may be on the shorter end of the lifespan given his mobility, but he's lasted this long so who knows.
