Let's look at the other side. The Chiefs were on the road, at high altitude, played with very little intensity and with an injured Hill, yet still only punted twice and would have punched in another TD on the final drive if needed.
It's funny that you think a one score lead would have been safe, especially after seeing them march right down the field on the last drive.
