this ****ing stupid and will be booting you from this thread for trolling. And if not trolling, as I've mentioned, it's like a contest to see who can claim "game over" first or make the broadest assumption based on the smallest sample size possible.
I'll make the distinction that IMO, "because Chiefs" is rooted in snatching defeat from the jaws of victory ...where as much of the complaining in GDTs these days is when the Chiefs are trying to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, or at least struggling.
"Because Chiefs" is when the Chiefs are leading the Cowboys or Broncos for pretty much the entire game, but people are assuming an opponent that hasn't found the end zone once in 50 minutes will now drive twice in 5 minutes for two touchdowns because the Chiefs are only up 13 and didn't score a TD to make it a 17 point lead. It's basically living with a fear that no matter how well things are going, the Chiefs will **** up.
Most of what I see these days is the same sky is falling mentality that's existed for 20 years.... the Chiefs aren't playing perfectly enough or even playing poorly, which automatically means the other team will play great and win the game. It's a basic lack of faith the Chiefs can ever come from behind, no matter how small the deficit or how early in the game. There's of course some 'because Chiefs' rooted in that, but IMO something else is going on there, whether it's an inferiority complex, wanting to expect failure and be surprised by success, or being a ****ing moron.
I dunno, after 0-24 against the Texans and having that deep sinking feeling during the Super Bowl when Mahomes threw that 4th quarter pick and so on and so forth, there are still times of "you guys need to pull your heads out of your ass" or "yeah, it's not their day" or escalating to
WTF IS GOING ON?!?.... but, I feel like knowing they ARE and WILL continue to be a SB contender for years to come as long as Mahomes stays healthy is just so damn comforting. It took Brady refs for me to even get worked up about the SB loss (and I was very worked up about it), or else I would have just blamed the 5th string offensive line, knowing we'd be back the following year.
Hell, none of us expected the struggles this year and they're currently the #1 seed..... if people can't take the bad that happens with all of this good, they should maybe find a new way to spend their time.
