Your GM loves comfort. He's a product of the Minnesota system.
He'll draft some nice players here and there and once Denver fires Fangio, he'll probably find somebody competent who can make the playoffs occasionally.
But again, when faced with making the play for a franchise guy or punting the decision into a future season, your GM chose to punt.
Just like they've done every year in Minnesota.
Don't underestimate Paton's ability to come up short when it comes to recruiting a QB, especially when all the guys he's trying to acquire are still under contract. If all those guys go elsewhere or stay with their teams, Denver is forced to punt yet again this offseason. Well... I mean, they COULD grow some balls and draft a guy, I suppose, but I'm not going to hold my breath.
