I spent off and on about 6 months in West Plains doing preliminary work for the realignment of 63 highway from Willow Springs south to just past West Plains. It's not real scenic in WP but it doesn't take much driving to get to the beautiful country. This was near 30 years ago its added some restaurants and hotels since we were there.
It's Porter Wagoner's hometown lol. A barbershop in town used to have a bluegrass hoedown Wednesday nights country folk would come from smiled to play. But you can find that in a lot of towns in Missouri. You can think me for the smooth nice easy drive from willow springs to West plains. Oh you may see an Amish carriage trotting down the shoulder along 60 hywy early in the morning he'll give ya a wave. Thats about it honestly its a pleasant town just not really touristy.
