A veteran placeholder + Little is one of the better ways to address LT, IMO. You need the bet to bandaid the position until either Fisher is back or Little/Niang has shown enough in practice to earn a shot.
Looking at what’s likely to be available and costs, Kelvin Beachum probably is the top “reasonably priced” option out there. He’d be a considerable upgrade as the swing tackle from Remmers and is just the type of guy likely to be squeezed by this market (solid vet who is a little older).
1 year, $5M on Beachum is do-able for the Chiefs and would stabilize things quite a bit. He’s not a great all around tackle, but he does skew better in pass pro and is solid/slightly above average.
If that doesn’t work, I think Peters is pretty close in line in terms of next-best option for that type of approach.
