So here's some pretty mindblowing stuff. ESPN has a component of their QBR Stat called "Points Added Above the Average QB." Mahomes is currently at 71.9 in this stat for 11 games. In 2018, he was graded 72.2 for 16 games. So he has essentially matched his 2018 season already in this category, with 5 games to spare. That is remarkable.
For even more perspective, Lamar Jackson won Unanimous MVP last year with a 66.7 PAA in 16 games. Mahomes has already blown past that number with 5 games to go.
