I continue to believe that Chris Jones deal is tied directly to Mahomes. It will happen at the same time as Mahomes if it’s going to happen. Depending on how much they have to free up for Mahomes this year (new contract vs extension) will determine if CJ gets a new deal IMO.
So stay tuned. They have another 5-6 weeks to figure it out.
And if CJ gets traded it will mean we have more flexibility down the road. Would love to keep him but probably makes more sense to let him walk. But I do hope they find a way to work it out and keep him in KC.
