Garoppolo loves the middle of the field, but part of that is just Shanahan's scheme.
When we run go routes, it's mostly to clear out things underneath and put safeties in conflict.
We don't really ask our guys to win on the outside on streaks/fades/deep outs.
When we throw outside the numbers, it's usually a deep crosser or a deep comeback route.
I think Shanahan likes to counter defenders crowding the middle of the field without outside zone runs and floods.
Honestly, Jimmy G usually gets into trouble when he holds the ball too long. He's good against the blitz and getting the ball out of his hands quickly.
If the coverage is tight, sometimes he's reluctant to take the checkdown.
Almost all of his picks have come when he's had time.
