DEN has played some good offenses (not great, let's be clear) and managed to stay in most of those games. The DEN defense has been a large part of that. They would have to be, considering just how bad their offense has been this year.

Are they legitimately the 5th best defense? Maybe not. But are they still a top tier defense? The stats and the eye test say yeah, probably they are.

As for the DEN offense, it's likely that they are really the 27th offense in the league.

The Bills are the 17th best offense this week, btw.

Now, if we were in week 4, the rankings don't mean nearly as much; just not enough data.. But now we're 11 games in and the stats are more meaningful. So if the stats show that the DEN is 5th, that's probably fairly close. Strength of schedule being a part of that equation, of course.

If they're really 5th, they're the worst 5th best defense of all time.
