Not to sound like a dick, but the smoke ring is the most overrated thing when it comes to smoking meat.
It doesn’t to anything to the meat, not a damn thing. It’s basically a presentation bragging right. If he didn’t have a smoke ring, I would still give his brisket two thumbs up.
