If you believe it's listening to you at all times, then I might as well let you know that the only indication you have that 3rd party apps aren't using your phone's microphone is an indicator on the screen, which can of course, be spoofed.
Your phone is listening to you, just like Amazon is.

You know this is bullshit right? And that they have accidentally sent recordings to other people before?
And yes your phone can be used to listen, hence why IOS is best way to go when it comes to privacy because believe it or not apples while invasive is the most secure
