it will be limited by the exhaust wheel.. but its still going to make what I need. (have seen these make anywhere from 600-750 hp on a 6.0 depending on setup) ts the largest small frame turbo out there that is a reasonable price. the BW s475/s480 is probably the 'perfect' fit for a 6.0, but there are a couple issues.
first - the size of the turbo, it would take a lot of fudging to get it even to fit in the kit position (for those who dont know, the BW style turbo are ****ing HUGE)
second - the fab work. , not only to make it connect to the turbo headers , fabbing a downpipe, swapping to a turbo k member (i can stay stock with my current setup) moving the radiator, fabbing a bracket to hold the damn thing, etc etc
third - honestly, those kind of turbos make it easy for me to turn it up high enough to scatter it all over the highway, and.. the temptation would loom.
so yea, i spoke with Huron Speed who makes my turbo headers/kit and basically he advised to switch to the t6 manifold if i want to go borg warner, which is more hassle, fab, money than i want to **** with, and people have gone 9s on the 7875s in full weight cars so thats going to be plenty for me. They also spool sooner and have a meatier midrange than the larger sized turbos, so i think they will be just fine for my street car.
I mean hell.. in 2010 we all used to sit around and marvel at the guy with a 76mm turbo in his mustang on how huge his turbo was, and now im looking at 78mm turbos going 'i can make that small turbo work' lol
here is a very similar example of my setup, the only difference is he is going through a t56 and i have a 4l80.
he made
711 rwhp
771 rwtq
17 PSI Pump 93 + 100% METH
I dont know if i mentioned it, but I will also be spraying meth, bought a nice little kit and dual nozzle set up from snow performance
