We all sit here enjoying the points, the fun offense, and all the wins....it's exciting to watch Chiefs football again. But have we even once stopped to think about Dustin Colquitt's feelings in all this? Averaged 75 punts on the season & nearly 5 times per game over the last 5 seasons. Pinning opponents deep, getting his exercise on Sunday's, team leader, was known as MVP, his kids were proud to call him dad.
Now the poor guy is an afterthought. He stands on the sidelines desperate to get back on the field to show his skill and so that his kids will love him again, but Mahomes won't let him. He's maybe not even going to get 50 punts for the entire season this year. Punts just under 3 times per game, sits on the bench feeling useless. I bet even Butker is making fun of him nowadays.
I remember you Dustin.
