He's more of a factor in the red zone because we now have a QB who actually will throw the ball INTO the endzone rather than dumping it off in front and waiting for the WR to run it in EVERY time. Hell, the freaking water boy is going to have 4 TD's by the end of the season the way Patrick is finding everyone.
He's not a bigger part of our offense. The guy is on pace to have less than 300 yards. He's getting less targets than he did with Alex.
Not surprising, given his reduced role.

Mmmmm ... I'm not sure I entirely follow your logic here, Mr. WhiteWhale. Is his role reduced that significantly so far?
According to PFR, In 2016, Conley was targeted 4.3 times a game on average. His catch percentage was 63.8%. Last season he was targeted 3.2 times per game and his catch percentage was 68.8%. That's the past part.
The now part is he's targeted 2.3 times per game, but his catch percentage is a whopping 71.4%. (If PFR is counting that one where he was blanketed on the short throw and Mahomes basically hit the defender with the ball, that's unfair, IMO. But I don't know. If so, his catch % should probably be more like 75%.)
Anyhow, that's actually not a huge drop-off in targets in my view. What is interesting is the catch percentage, though. If by "reduced role" you mean targets, maybe. If you mean yardage, definitely. If you mean scoreboard production, it's no contest ... his role is the opposite of "reduced".
He had 1 TD in 2015 ... none since until this year in which he has 2.
His best yardage year (whatever that means) was 2016 (as you would expect) with 550 or 34.3 per game (I haven't bothered to look at snaps which would be a better indicator, IMO). This year, he's averaged 15 yards per game. But again, 2 TDs to show for it ... both thrown to the EZ.
I think it's way too early to start comparing things like yardage (which is basically a meaningless game stat) unless we wish to analyze snap count. But, like you ... I see Conley as that big-body receiver you want in the red zone. Using him more like Stonehands, or something.
Myself, I wouldn't worry about the yards at all. Nor would I concern myself with the targets necessarily. If Wally uses him correctly, 2 catches a game for 2 TDs would be just fine by me.
