Help maintain a chip on his shoulder. I don’t think he pays attention to media stuff, but I am sure his father and others close to him are keeping him in the loop about some of that junk.
He has been proving people wrong ever since 2014. Everyone at Tech believed he would be a career backup and he turned into a 2.5 year starter in only 3 years on the roster.
