Prior to that, you really couldn't tell what happened. Yes, the replay footage from a different angle showed the fumble, but live - this is the view you got.
I know that some of you really cling to this 'refs love Denver' narrative, but seriously if the challenge guys up in SEA's box were doing their job, they would have told Pete to throw the flag and not wait. They win this in a challenge.
Denver knew it was risky, hell Freeman may have said "Hell yeah it hit the dirt"... and they ran up to snap the ball, which they were already running a form of quick snap.
