This means Ray will play out the final year of his rookie deal and then become a free agent next March. The former No. 23 overall pick recorded four sacks as a rookie and doubled it to eight in 2016, but Ray then missed half of last season with a wrist injury and managed just one sack in eight games. The Broncos just took EDGE Bradley Chubb at No. 5 overall to pair with All-Pro Von Miller. It's fair to wonder if the Broncos could shop Ray before Week 1.

It's too bad Ray got injured last season, had that not happened, he could have had a heck of a year. Now with Chubb, it was hard to justify paying him $9m+ . the good news is he can have a helluva year and make bank when he becomes a FA. I seriously doubt the Broncos will trade him, I think they will let him play out the season, hope he has a monster season (10+ sacks) and then let him go via FA. He's a good kid, he just needs to play more.
