Yes, I agree. The AFC is in dire need of the next great AFC QB.
Tom Brady--Still putting up amazing numbers. He's 40 though. He can't go on forever. Plus, that situation is starting to leak quickly with Brady, the trainer guy and BB...along with Gronk.
Big Ben--Still good, but I don't think he's great anymore. He's up there in age as well.
Philip Rivers--Great stat machine in the regular season. That's about it. He's up there in age as well.
Derek Carr--Took a step back last year. Was one of the next great ones in the AFC. We will see. If he gets along with Gruden then he will succeed. It might take a year in that system though.
That's it. Everyone else is pretty trash-mediocre.
Then the young guns, Mahomes and Watson. I think Mahomes is going to be a star in the league. Watson, already became one, but he reminds me of Rivers a bit because much of his stats seem to come when he was down a ton. At least against the Chiefs...all garbage stats. We will see.
Regardless, the AFC needs Mahomes and Watson or a few rookies to pan out because the power of the NFL will sway heavily towards the NFC with their QB's.
