I think that is where you're twisted up... Trevor didn't play terrible in 2016. Trevor wasn't asked to limit his attempts to 20 a game while they ran wild and rested on the defense. Was he consistently spectacular and without issues? Certainly not.
Sure, they wanted their #1 pick to win the gig... it just didn't happen. Trevor played better, it's not like they both sucked and they flipped a coin. Lynch never had the job, never won it. Trevor won it last year and retained it.
Now, we'll see if he's going to prove his doubters wrong.
