We'll see who declares, but thus far it looks like 2018 isn't all that it's cracked up to be. People were down on Mahomes, Watson, and others in this class for a lack of familiarity with pro system concepts, but the top of 2018 is populated with guys like Lamar Jackson, Lucas Falk, Chase Litton, and Mason Rudolph. Dumbed down spread/air raid concept offenses, or as you call them "college chuck and duck" systems-- and NONE of those guys have the arm talent that Mahomes has.
Darnold might not even declare, and he's had ONE season-- he's still largely an unknown. He might be pretty damn good, though. Rosen apparently is a ****ing toolbag and his path to the NFL seems to be taking the Christian Hackenberg turn. And Josh Allen might be the best of the bunch, or he might be a flaming bag of dicks if he can't figure out how to get better control and accuracy on his throws.
It's still really early to tell, but everybody claiming 2018 is an endless sea of awesome NFL starting QBs needs to pump the brakes.
