I understand the cap prospective, but I'm not going to sit here and pretend I'm in some delusional world where this was a net positive from a personnel perspective. Maclin was a good receiver.
Tyreek Hill offset Maclin's drop in production in 2016. Hill and Conley will both likely have to produce more this season to offset the loss because I'm doubtful that a handful of rookies and a 2nd year guy that could only muster 4 snaps are going to do it. I don't think that's a huge stretch to expect 800 yards each out of Conley and Hill and 200 yards out of a rookie, but it still has to happen just to break even. We'll see how it transpires, but I'm certainly not jumping up and down about this transaction at the moment.
