There is more to this than just a planned salary cap savings move IMO.

A failed drug test, something off the field, etc.

Usually these June 1st cuts are much more choreographed for high profile veteran players.

The fact Maclin was participating in all of the Chiefs OTA's, including yesterday's OTA suggests something sudden has happened that prompted the Chiefs to release him.
